Cupid...

The other day Hope had a touch of the flu, so we spent most of the day watching Christmas movies.  She loves the Santa Clause movies and the only one we own is #2, so we got that one out and watched it.  Well, that is the one where SC has to find a wife and has Cupid in it (although Cupid might be in all of them).

Anyway, she said some funny things later in the day about Cupid and his "love" arrows...

Mom, did Cupid shoot you and dad with arrows to make you fall in love?  Did he shoot you?  Or dad? or Both?

Me...I don't know (with a giggle).

Mom, maybe that is why I have been falling in love with all those boys at school because Cupid has been shooting me with his love arrows!

Me...Oh my, I guess I need to have a talk with Cupid and tell him to leave you alone for a while.  Hahahaha!

The kid cracks me up!  Love it!

Anyway, speaking of Cupid, here is a layout I created for Joe and Hope's first Father/Daughter Dance last Valentine's Day.

I hope they get the chance to go this year too.  They had a lot of fun.

And here are some LOVE related cards to share too...from Pink Paislee scraps, etc.

Well, I guess I better go see what we are going to have for supper.  Any suggestions.  One of these days I am going to get organized and do some of those freezer meals I see on Pinterest.  Now I just have to find the time to grocery shop and create the meals.  You know...in all that free time I have!  :)

It's Beginning to Look a LOT like...

Christmas!  Yep, we have the light hung outside (and by we I mean Joe), the tree is up (Hope's contribution last night) the lights are on (Joe again) and the ornaments all hung with care (finally my contribution).  We are playing Christmas music and enjoying some nice family time.

Here is Hope hanging the "bacon" on the tree.  When she pulled these glitter twisted tinsel from the box, she said, "these look like bacon, I am going to hang them on the tree to tease Reilly".  Too funny!

Hope also set up the Nativity scene too.  :)

And there were a LOT of favorite ornaments, new and old, that were hung on our tree...

This ornament has been on our tree since Joe and I got married.  We bought it in Florida on our honeymoon. It is one of my favorites.

Here is Hope's Tinkerbell and another "first Christmas" ornament.

And of course one of our dog Reilly.  Love that furry guy!

This is a NEW favorite I found this year.  I LOVE the movie "A Christmas Story" and since I don't have a good place to put an actual leg lamp in our house (which I would have one if we did), I decided an ornament would have to do.  :)

I love glittery ornaments and lots of the glass ornaments on our tree.  As you can tell, we have a very eclectic looking tree.  We even have several of Hope's handmade craft ornaments she has created through the years.  I love this glittery one too.

This is another new one this year, since she has really gotten into dancing...

...and is doing the Nutcracker again this year.

Here is a close up of the "bacon" ornaments.  :)  Still makes me laugh.

This was one that was missing for a while, until Hope remembered where she hid it.  Not sure the story behind that one, but it has been found and added to the tree.  :)

Maybe next weekend or sometime this week Joe and Hope will work on getting the Christmas village up on the shelves too.  And Elfie will be making an appearance soon too, our Elf on the Shelf.

Speaking of Elfie, I am working on a project for The Scrappy Gourmet featuring our Elfie and all his hiding places.  Watch for it soon!

In the mean time, here are a few more Christmas cards to get you in the holiday spirit!

Hope is heading to a movie with the twins soon and I will get some quiet scrapbooking time to work on that Elfie project.  Yeah!

And supper is in the oven too.  Wow, that is almost too much productivity in a single day!  Hahaha!

Happy Thanksgiving 2012

So much to be thankful for...ALWAYS!

This is the turkey that Hope made at school, sharing some of the things she was thankful for this year.

Some of it is hard to read in the picture so...she was thankful for her family, friends, dog, him and school.  I think she ran out of time because the last one was blank.  :)  There was also a cute poem on the back too.

Well, I am tired from a long drive to visit family today, but just wanted to let all my family and friends know how thankful I am to have you in my life!

So here are some Thank you cards to share with you...

So are any of you doing any Black Friday shopping????  If you are....I think you are CRAZY!!!  :)  But wish you happy shopping.  Stay safe.  I will be at home in my warm bed!  :)

Goodnight!

More birthday celebrations...

Wow, there have been a lot of friends and family with birthdays this week and next, so I will continue to share birthday related layout and some cards.

I LOVE how this layout came together.  This layout is almost ALL My Minds Eye.  I can't deny, they are my favorite line of papers.

This is the first time I have used washi tape and it was a lot of fun to use.  The blue chevron was actually two rows of tape.

I think my favorite part of the layout is the big "7".  This is one of my special finds I got in California.  I went shopping at Paper Tales and she had these cute little bins of various items and this was one of my favorite finds.

And of course Hope celebrated her "golden" birthday because she turned 7 on the 7th of January.

Well, happy birthday to all those family and friends celebrating birthdays this week.  And of course, a few birthday cards to share (since I didn't get cards out to any of those family and friends) with all of you.  And of course, they were made using My Minds Eye papers.

Alright, need to go finish watching Dancing with the Stars.  Go Shawn Johnson (my hometown girl).  Vote!  Vote!  Vote! to get her in the finals!!!!!

40 and Fabulous!!!

Today begins the year (next 12 months) as the year of 40!!!  My classmates from high school will be turning 40 and the first one turned 40 today!

Happy Birthday to my close friend Dana!!!!!

Here is a picture of her from Kindergarten.  I am pretty sure we first met in Kindergarten, but maybe earlier.  We went through school K-12 all in the same school together.  Yep, that is the small town life.

And here she is now...beautiful!

So, since I didn't get around to mailing a card to get to her in time for her birthday, here is one on here for her.  Hehehe!

Dana, I hope you had a great birthday today and I think you had fun this weekend celebrating!  Wish I could have been there.

On to other business..

Hope had her school conferences last night, and she is doing really good in school since we got her meds better regulated during school hours (not having much luck at home, but will take what we can get).  She had some great stories she wrote, which was inspired by one of their reading books in class.

I love what she wrote.  So proud of her.

Well, that is it for tonight!

Ironically, I think I am next in line to turn 40, so until February...

Thank you for your service!

Hope made this picture of Friday and it just seemed to fit in with today...Veteran's Day.  Thank you to all the service men and women and their families for their service and sacrifice.  It is greatly appreciated!!!!

This is Hope and two of the neighbor kids.  They were at our place eating supper.  This was an adventure.  Anna has eaten at our place numerous times, but it was the first time for Bruce, her little brother.  I think he thought we were going to have macaroni and cheese, which is usually what we have when Hope invites Anna over.  However, I actually cooked that night, which was ham balls.

It took A LOT of convincing, but Bruce finally tried the ham balls.  Anna loved them, and after they went home their mom sent a text asking for the recipe.  :)

Anyway, today Hope and I made star shaped cookies so I could take them to work.  I work with several veterans and I wanted to make them something special to thank them.  I hope they enjoy them.

In honor of Veteran's Day, here is a thank you card...

Yesterday the weather was just beautiful, so Hope and Joe hung the Christmas lights on the house.

Joe did most of the work after Anna came over to play and he lost his helper (Hope).  :)

Since, it is starting to look a little like Christmas (at least in the sense of decorating), here are a few more Christmas cards...

I loved this line of papers from My Minds Eye, and finally this summer I got around to using the scraps to make cards.  I used almost every little scrap that I had.

Everyone have a great evening...
