Eagles and Mr. Snowy...

Yesterday we drove downtown to try and get a glimpse of the bald eagles hanging around the river.   We were able to get a few shots of them flying around.  It was pretty cool.

Then I had to go out and buy some birthday presents for Hope.  This year I decided I would wait until after Christmas to get her birthday gift.  BAD IDEA!!!!  I don't know what I was thinking, but there is NOTHING left out there.  I did manage to find a few small things, but the thing she wants is out of stock.  So I told her we would get it when it comes back in stock, but she wouldn't have it to open on her birthday.  So hopefully she won't be too disappointed tomorrow.

Anyway...while I was out shopping Joe and Hope went sledding and made a great snowman for our front yard.  Hope named him Mr. Snowy.  :)

The other day, when I was taking pictures of my latest batch of cards, Hope saved one for the very last and said it was her favorite.  So that will be the card she gets from me and Joe.  This is it...

I can't believe her birthday is tomorrow.  Eight years...hard to believe.  More on that tomorrow.  :)

Anyway, here is a few more baby related cards to share with you too.

Have a good night!

Happy New Year! 2013

Welcome to 3013!  And as Hope puts it...only 7 more days til my birthday!  Yep, maybe I should start thinking about getting presents and planning a party?????

Well, we spent a nice quiet evening at home last night.  Hope was convinced she was going to stay up until midnight.  We didn't bother arguing with her, since I didn't think she would make it this year.  And  I was right.  She fell asleep around 11.  She wasn't too upset she missed the ball dropping in NY.

And today was pretty quiet too.  We kept ourselves entertained with a movie this morning (The Odd Life of Timothy Green-highly recommended), some scrapbooking, football, Wii and cooking up some of these...

YUM!!!  They were so good.  We grilled half and steamed half.  Really I couldn't tell much of a difference other than if you cook them outside you won't have the smell inside.  :)  So if you stop by in the next day or two, you have been warned.

Since it is a new year I thought I would share pictures of a baby gift/album I created this fall.  My friend Pam had twin boys.  I rarely get to do scrappy boy projects, so this was a lot of fun to make.

I used a Fancy Pants album with the pocket and journal pages in it.  It also has picture sleeve pages too, so you can just slip in pictures too.

These are just a few of the pages I decorated in the album.

This is the back cover.  I wrapped the train die cut around from the front of the album.

I created a coordinating gift bag and made several baby cards too, that I will share over the next few posts.

Well, I am off to enjoy a fire in the fireplace and watch one of my favorite shows...Parenthood!

Goodnight!

White Christmas

Ok, so this update is a little late, but I have been busy hanging out with Hope and Scrapbooking!!!!

Hope is FINALLY not sick.  Although Hope and I had to stay home and only Joe traveled up to visit his family for Christmas.  So Joe was able to visit and bring back Hope's presents.

One of her favorite presents was this sassy hat.  It goes perfect with her personality.  :)

Elfie had a few last good hiding spots...

...before he headed back to the North Pole with Santa.  Thanks Elfie for another fun year.

Of course, we made some yummy cookies for Santa.

And of course over the weekend we got more snow, which guaranteed a White Christmas.  Christmas morning was pretty fun.  Hope got a lot of great presents, including the McKenna American Girl Doll.  She loved it!

She also got some of the Friend legos, which we had a LOT of fun putting together.

She also got the crutches and cast.

Grandma also helped Hope put together some of the legos.  When ever Hope "dinged" Grandma was supposed to turn the page.  It was pretty funny.

Later that day, Dawn and the twins and the Walkers came over for dinner.  We decided to take the kids sledding to work off some Christmas Day energy.  IT WAS COLD!!!!!!

Lauren was a trooper and went down the hill several times with the kids.

We had my family Christmas and mom got Hope a jeep for her American Girl Dolls.  Obviously, she LOVES it.  :)

And we got more snow.  Hope went out back and had some fun of her own.  She had found my ski goggles.  She loved them.  :)

And she looked great in her new rainbow stocking hat.

Since it has been so cold out, I thought I would share a warm summer layout.

I free hand drew the sun and cut it out (in orange and yellow) and used every yellow button I had on hand to fill in the center of the sun.

I just used a list of activities we did over that summer (2011).

Alright, have a great New Year's Eve and be safe out there.

Do...Do...Do...Looking Out My Back Door

Well, it is a winter wonderland around here and we got the day off from work and school because of it!  Yeah!  I just wish Hope felt good enough to go out and play, although that didn't stop her from getting dressed and going out on the back deck for about a minute.  She couldn't help herself.  :)

And of course, Reilly has been out about every 10 minutes since he got up this morning.  He LOVES snow!!!  Just loves to go out and tromp around in it.  I always goes out where it is higher than his belly and just kind of wades around in it.  Sometimes he just lays out on the deck and enjoys the fresh snow. Crazy Dog!!!

And of course Elfie made it safely back from the North Pole last night and wanted to keep an eye  on things outside so he landed on the window crank in the front room.  He has the perfect view to watch the blowing snow and all the kids playing outside.

We are lucky we still have power.  There are a lot of areas near us that have not had power since early this morning. I hope they get it back soon.

In case you haven't visited The Scrappy Gourmet lately, I have a few new kits up on the site.  I shared the Elf one the other day (and it is SOLD OUT already) and here is another one called Everyday you Make Me SMILE!

I had been saving lots of my favorite pictures of Hope and complied them all together on a layout and mini album.  This would be a great gift too.

Well, off to build some legos with my favorite girl.  Stay warm.
