A husband?

Hope came home this afternoon and told me that she asked a boy in her class to be her husband and he said "YES"!  Then she says, can you believe I am in first grade and already have my husband picked out.  :)   Sure you do!

Then as she was eating her snack she showed me her tooth and said it just won't get wiggly enough to come out.  I even took a LOT of carrots today to try and get it to come out.

And that was just in the first 10 minutes of being home.  I have a feeling she is going to be silly tonight.

Keeping it short, as I need to get her ready for gymnastics.

Here are a couple more cards to share.

Again, I will be sending these to my sorority house I was in at UNI.  I am sure they will put them to good use.

Anyway, gotta run!  Mom duty calls.

The First Day of School-First Grade!

Hope had a great day today at school.  Although, I didn't make it to the end of the day without a phone call from her teacher.  I saw the number come up on my phone and new it was from her teacher.  You just never know what you are going to hear.  Luckily, it was typical Hope information.  :)

Her teacher called to let me know she had noticed that Hope had a hole in her pants and had suspected she had used her scissors to cut the hole.  I explained to her that it wasn't the first time this had happened and that maybe it would help if both of us reminded her that scissors were for cutting paper/crafts only and not on her clothes.  Good grief!

Other than that, her teacher said she had a GREAT day!  That is always good to hear.

So here are the pictures I took this morning...

She was very excited to see she had the same bus driver this year.  I was too.  He was really good last year and will keep her in line.  :)

She has already asked me if she can walk to the bus on her own tomorrow morning with the neighbor kids.  I will have to think about that one.  :)

When I picked her up at the after school program, we walked down to get a picture of her with her new locker.  As you can see she pretty much destroyed the pants...

...so my plan is to cut them off and make them shorts.  We will get a little more use out of them.

Well, I mentioned yesterday that I created a layout using the new Authentique Paper line, which you can find here.

This is a layout using a new family photo of my niece's family.  Aren't they a beautiful family!

Here are a few detail shots of the layout...

The yellow area is actually a pocket, which holds the baby announcement for Kenton.  I wasn't sure if I would do a separate layout, but wanted to have a special place for it with this layout.  So I strategically placed my adhesive to create a pocket just big enough for the annoucement.

Well, that is all for today.  Of to figure out what to cook my hungry first grader for supper!  Have a good one!

The scissors strike again...

Hope has been known to cut her own hair from time to time, along with her clothes and other things that aren't paper. Anyway, today at school she cut her hair and now se has bangs. I must admit that she did a pretty good job considering she probably did it sitting at her desk withlout a mirror.

Ironically, several weeks ago she told me that one of the girls in her class cut her hair at school and got in trouble with the teacher. So we talked about only cutting paper with scissors. That talk must have been forgotten because a few days ago she "accidently" cut a hole in the shirt she was wearing. Silly girl.

So tomorrow after school we need to go get her bangs straightened up and will probably get a shorter style for the summer.

Speaking of school, tomorrow was supposed to be the last day of school, but due to a snow day this winter she will go on Monday to finish off her first year of school. Kindergarten has been amazing and I can't wait to see what next year brings.

Here are the cards I made to give to her teacher and the associates that help out in the classroom.

I tucked all three cards in the bag for Hope to take to school tomorrow.

Well that is all for tonight! Have a good night.

Did you know...

...that eagles can read?  Yep, according to Hope they can.  :)

Ok, here is how today's story went...

We were driving out of our subdivision when Hope spotted about 7-8 "eagles" AKA-hawks or buzzards of some kind.  She kept saying look mom, they are following us.  Then as we got on the interstate she said they are gone, they must have gotten lost.

I explained that they probably couldn't tell which van was us since we see the same looking van all over the place.  She quickly explained they knew exactly which van we were in because they could read our license plate.

I am giggling, thinking where does she come up with this stuff?  :)

So the conversation continues with me saying, wow I didn't know that eagles were so smart they could read license plates.  Hope says, yeah they can read all kinds of things so they know where they are flying.

Too funny!

Anyway, I started working on a project idea and am going to start sharing some of my older layouts I have created since I started scrapbooking.  With all the tornados lately, I would hate to think of losing all of those memories in my scrapbooks (although they would still be in my heart).  So I am starting to take photos of each layout and will save them out on shutterfly.  If anything would ever happen to my original scrapbooks, I would have a digital layout that could be made into a shutterfly book with minimal effort.  How about you?  Do you have a back up plan?

You have to promise not to laugh too hard at some of my layouts or at least not laugh too hard.  I had to smile when I looked at my very first scrapbook, which I created in 2000.

Well, nothing much to share tonight, and am tired so heading of to dreamland!

Goodnight!
